MissionSince its founding in 1972, JSPOA, a not-for-profit organization, has had as its mission the coordination and delivery of a broad range of home-based and community-based services for older adults. JSPOA seeks to benefit older adults throughout Queens but primarily Southeast Queens. Its purpose is to enable its growing and diverse senior population to live as healthy, active, and productive citizens. JSPOA's priorities are determined by the community it serves.
Major AccomplishmentsThe largest minority service provider to the elderly in Queens, New York and one of the largest in New York State Serves more than 5,000 older adults directly and 15,000 others indirectly every year Sponsor of five nationally accredited senior citizen centers Provider of more then 20 different types of home and community-based senior services Recipient of more than 50 proclamations, awards, honors, and letters of commendations for its services and programs More than 28 years of major funding for senior services from corporations, foundations, individuals, the Queens Borough President's Office, New York City, New York State, and the federal government
